Small Group: The New Jim Crow/Dismantling Racism

Date/Time
Sun, 05/22: 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Location
Sanctuary, St. Mark's Church in the Bowery

At the November Diocesan Convention, a resolution was passed requesting that all parishes discuss The New Jim Crow, a book by Michelle Alexander, because its treatment of mass incarceration sheds light on the structural nature of racism in the U.S.

During Lent this year, Rev. Paul Feuerstein used a curriculum designed by Cynthia Copeland and Lindsey Briggs of the Diocesan Reparations Committee to explore the book. This discussion continues as part of this group, which meets occasionally. Join in anytime!

After church. Lunch provided.
