Directed by Jeannine Otis, “New York Lamentation” will have its first performance at Christ Episcopal Church in Staten Island on January 21 at 3:00pm. Written by Rev. Chuck Kramer, New York Lamentation is a historical play about people who have enslaved people or who were enslaved themselves in the 17th and 18th century of NYC. These are real people who have shaped their communities and we delve into their histories to explore the evolution of race, culture and politics in New York City.
Presented by the Episcopal Diocesan Reparations Committee.
