“All are welcome, all are welcome in this place…” is a refrain from a popular hymn we often sing at St. Mark’s Church in the Bowery. The reality is that those of us who have limited mobility, are less welcome because St. Mark’s lacks an appropriate accessibility ramp.
Our goal is to build a permanent ramp in keeping with our building’s historic architecture that will allow all to enter through our center gate and center doorway. By doing so, we hope that our church will reflect our congregation’s commitment to welcome all to experience the love of God in this place, exactly as they are. Learn more about the ramp.
We are happy to report that through the hard work and contributions of so many of you, and with a loan from the diocese, we are prepared to break ground on the ramp construction!
Your contributions are still needed as we will need to pay off the balance of the loan. If you’d like to be a part of this historic project, you can donate here:

You may also mail a check to the office or make an offering during our Sunday services.
Please be sure to include “Ramp It Up!” in the memo line.

Every valley shall be raised up,
Every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain.
